Our Excursion in Collecting Wood
Our excursion out in Canton to tear off barn siding and structure was hot! We were able to salvage about 40% of the siding, but we got almost 100% of the rough-sawn oak on the inside which is estimated to be about 50 years old (out in the weather and still solid!).
Week Ending on the 14th of Sept.
Our work over the last week has been fun! We've been framing in our barn and putting tin on the roof. We've also has an excursion out to another barn to tear off siding. All in all, it's been a great week with a very nice change in weather.

Week Ending on Aug. 31
We only lost one day this week due to Isaac! The others we spent building and aging our 90ft bridge as well as beginning on our timber barn made from pecky cypress.

Day 8
We were rained out Friday and part of Thursday last week, but we're
finally done: making windows, repairing screen doors, shoring up porches
and removing part of one, setting new columns, attaching rusted tin,
killing wasps & bees & yellow jackets, cutting out termite
ridden floor joists and repairing flooring, demolishing kitchens, and
other general repairs. This place was fun to work on, but man it was
far out, and we're ready to move on to building a washed out bridge!

Day 3
This is our third day of building on the set of a new film from a William Faulkner book, As I lay Dying. It's been great; we're out in the middle of no where, working on a house that should fall over at any moment, and the projects we're tackling make it better. Stay tuned and we'll keep you up to date on the latest!
